Sharif Mohammed Bhamji, a member of the Heiltsuk Nation, says he hopes he has set an example by standing up to his experience of racial profiling at TD Bank. Bhamji and TD Bank recently settled a 2022 human rights complaint he filed after a bank teller wouldn’t accept his status card as ID when he was trying to open a bank account.
